The Penguin Characters Transformed Into Pixar’s 3D Animation Style Art Works Surprisingly Well
Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for The Penguin
Digital artist shows what The Penguin‘s main cast would look like if Oz Cobb, Sofia Falcone, and Victor Aguilar starred in a Pixar / DC movie. The Penguin is an especially dark DC series, as it not only features some of the most brutal deaths in a DC project so far, but its realistic tone also means that no character can come back from the dead or punch their way out of difficult situations. Just like in real life, innocent people like Rhenzy Feliz’s Victor Aguilar meet an undeserved tragic fate while vicious criminals like Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb come out on top unscathed, as seen in The Penguin finale’s ending, which saw Oz kill Victor with his bear hands.
Artist @gabriel.soareszz redesigns The Penguin‘s cast in the style of Pixar’s 3D-animated movies. The image depicts Oz Cobb wielding a gun while smoking a cigar, Sofia Falcone smoking a cigarette, and Victor Aguilar standing next to Oz with his hands in his pockets. The Penguin‘s Pixar redesign captures each of the characters’ personalities perfectly. Check out the image below:
What The Pixar-Inspired The Penguin Fan Art Means
DC’s Gotham Characters Work In Any Medium
The Penguin’s gritty tone couldn’t be more different to Pixar’s family movies, yet Oz Cobb, Sofia Falcone, and Victor Aguilar look like they would fit quite well in a 3D-animated film or show. This may be due to the fact that The Penguin is based on DC characters, who have been translated to every medium and format throughout several decades. For instance, Meredith Burgess’ Penguin is one of the main villains of the 1960s Batman series and movie, Danny DeVito’s Penguin fully embodies Tim Burton’s gloomy style in Batman Returns, and Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb is an unequivocally realistic character in Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe.

The Penguin Just Made Oz More Dangerous To The Batman, I Just Hope The Sequel Makes Him The Main Villain
After The Penguin, Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb has earned his spot as a top-billing antagonist in Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman – Part II.
Gotham-based characters may be the most dynamic characters in DC Comics. Batman’s allies and enemies can be as fantastical and lighthearted or as grounded and dark as each DC project prefers. Apart from the Penguin, the Riddler is also a perfect example: Jim Carrey’s Edward Nigma and Paul Dano’s Edward Nashton are on opposite sides of the tone spectrum in Batman Forever and The Batman. If DC ever wanted to make a Pixar-like, 3D-animated movie starring Batman characters, the results could be just as popular as a TV-MA-rated series like The Penguin.
Our Take On The Pixar-Inspired The Penguin Fan Art
DC’s Batman Lore Will Be Covered By Two Simultaneous Franchises Soon
While The Batman and The Penguin have cemented the dark parts of Batman’s lore as a goldmine for live-action adaptations, the Dark Knight’s more fantastical and lighthearted parts will likely be represented by the DCU. Since the DCU’s Batman will exist in the same continuity as characters like Krypto the Superdog and Weasel, projects like Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Brave and the Bold movie can introduce Gotham characters such as Clayface, Killer Croc, and even Bat-Mite. What’s more, both sides of Batman’s DC lore will likely be explored simultaneously as Matt Reeves’ The Batman franchise and the DCU’s Batman will overlap for a few years.
