Will Venom 4 Happen? Everything We Know
Now that Venom: The Last Dance is here, it raises the question about whether the iconic Marvel character will be back for a Venom 4 movie. It was only 2018 when the first Venom film was released in theaters, defying all expectations with Venom‘s solid box office results and successfully launching a brand-new franchise for Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Venom: Let There Be Carnage continued the franchise’s winning streak, setting the stage for an epic finale for the trilogy.
Tom Hardy brought Eddie Brock and Venom to life, with such a committed performance that it was one of the biggest reasons the Venom films have been so successful. Venom: The Last Dance promises at least one more ride for the character, but if it is successful, will Sony be willing to make Venom 4? Here’s everything to know about the possibility of the Venom trilogy continuing in the future.
Venom: The Last Dance Ends Tom Hardy’s Symbiote Saga (But There’s More Coming)
It has been stated numerous times, but Venom: The Last Dance is supposed to be the final film in the Venom franchise. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Tom Hardy opened up about playing the character and if he and director Kelly Marcel had anything else they wanted to explore with the character, stating: “Everything that you see in The Last Dance is from Kelly’s imagination, and mine too. But there’s nothing left out. It’s surgically chosen and delivered.”
Tom Hardy expressed his desire to finally fight Spider-Man.
It has been stated by both Tom Hardy and Kelly Marcel that this will be the final film for Tom Hardy and Venom, but there still seems to be possible plans for the character in the future. During the New York Comic Con Panel, Tom Hardy expressed his desire to finally fight Spider-Man, mentioning: “I would like to fight Spider-Man. I would like to fight him right now. In a movie, 100%. I would never say never.” It seems like, under the right circumstances, Hardy would be willing to continue on as the character.
Venom 4 Is Not Confirmed
As of now, Venom 4 has not been confirmed by Sony, and Tom Hardy’s comments about playing the character call into question if it will ever be made. Still, if Venom: The Last Dance continues the franchise’s box-office streak, it’s completely possible that another one could be on the way. Sony only has one more movie currently slated to release in its Spider-Man Universe with the upcoming Kraven the Hunter, and if they want to continue the universe, a fourth Venom film seems like the most surefire bet for success.
Knulls Appearance Sets Up A New Symbiote Story
Even if Venom: The Last Dance is actually the final solo Venom film, Eddie Brock and Venom could still appear in future movies for Sony, given that Knull has officially been introduced in the universe. Knull is the creator of the symbiotes, and has sent Xenophages down to Earth to hunt Eddie and Venom. Venom: The Last Dance director, Kelly Marcel, recently opened up about Knull and his place in the universe. She confirmed that this film is just the introduction to Knull and there are indeed plans for him in Sony’s future.

Forget Spider-Man 4, Venom’s Villain Knull Is Big Enough To Be An Avengers-Level Threat
Knull’s Marvel future remains to be seen, and details have revealed that the villain would make an excellent antagonist to the entire Avengers team.
Knull is an extremely powerful villain that could be Sony’s answer to Thanos for their own cinematic universe. With him being Venom’s creator, this means that Eddie and Venom could return for more action, facing off against Knull in the process. Given that Knull is a multiversal being, there is even a possibility that he can cross over into the MCU at some point, opening up the opportunity for Tom Hardy’s Venom to join as well.
Venom 4 Cast: Who Could Return From The Last Dance
If Venom 4 does actually happen, there are a number of characters that could be included in the film. Obviously, Tom Hardy would reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom and, with plans for Knull in the future, it’s possible he could show as Sony builds towards a grand finale for their universe. Another bold choice for Venom 4 would be for him to finally fight Spider-Man. It’s unclear if this would involve Andrew Garfield, or if Sony wants to continue to go all in with Tom Holland, but bringing the web-slinger into the fray seems like the best step for the franchise to take.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
is in production for Sony, but no release date has been announced.
Outside the Venom films, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe hasn’t found much success. Kraven the Hunter is the last movie on the release schedule for the time being, which means Sony might try and get Tom Hardy back once again to play Eddie Brock and Venom. If that is the case, even if Venom 4 doesn’t happen, fans would be happy to have him back in some capacity, maybe even to fight the web-head himself.
