Ryan Reynolds And Shawn Levy Break Down Deadpool & Wolverine’s Iconic Final Battle
Screen Rant presents an exclusive look at the filmmaker commentary featurette from the Deadpool & Wolverine Blu-ray/DVD set of the major Marvel Cinematic Universe hit. While Marvel Studios had a single movie release this year, that didn’t stop Deadpool & Wolverine from becoming one of the biggest hits in The Multiverse Saga. Deadpool & Wolverine not only marked the return of Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson but a new beginning for Hugh Jackman as a fresh Logan variant.
The Phase 5 installment served as a celebration of the Fox-Marvel era, with Deadpool & Wolverine including many Easter eggs and references as well as cameos from numerous familiar faces. Time will tell when the MCU audience will get to see Reynolds and Jackman again in the franchise. However, after a spectacular run at the worldwide box office, as well as becoming one of the MCU’s most well-received movies, Deadpool & Wolverine has finally made its Digital debut today, with its 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD release coming up later this month.
To get ready for Deadpool & Wolverine’s upcoming home media release, Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive clip from one of the hottest featurettes, which is the filmmaker commentary with director Shawn Levy and Reynolds. In this particular segment of the featurette (which can be seen above,) Reynolds and Levy break down the big battle sequence against Cassandra Nova’s army, as Deadpool and Wolverine join forces with X-23, Elektra, Gambit, and Blade to get out of the Void. The duo explores their thought process while filming the epic showdown, as well as some subtle Marvel nods that fans will want to look out for in the commentary.
Outside of the exciting filmmaker commentary, Deadpool & Wolverine have multiple thrilling featurettes included in the home entertainment release. “Finding Madonna: Making the Oner” features Reynolds and Levy honoring the first battle sequence between Wade and Logan. “Practical Approach: Celebrating the Art of Ray Chan” serves as a tribute to the late Ray Chan, who worked on multiple Marvel Studios productions before his passing in 2024. Jackman will also have his own “Wolverine” featurette, exploring his return to the role of the Marvel icon after initially finishing his run with 2017’s Logan.
“Loose Ends: The Legacy Heroes” will put a spotlight on the beloved Marvel cameos that were featured in Deadpool & Wolverine, as Reynolds and Levy will be joined by cast and crew to break down the special appearances, including the incredibly choreographed sequences, and the new costume designs. The deleted scenes that fans can look forward to include “Elevator Ride,” “Do Nothing,” and “Daddy’s In Love,” which will be heavily related to the TVA. The Deadpool & Wolverine featurettes will also include the gag reel and “Fun Sack,” which will feature fun segments with Deadpool himself.
Following the Deadpool & Wolverine ending, time will tell what other plans Marvel Studios has in store for these characters, as The Multiverse Saga isn’t over quite yet. Whether or not Reynolds and Jackman will be back for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars is one of the biggest theories in the MCU audience following the events of Deadpool & Wolverine. But until that happens, the world will be able to relive the glorious story of Deadpool & Wolverine through Blu-ray/DVD, as well as on Digital.
Deadpool & Wolverine
is now available on Digital and will be released on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD October 22.
