Deadpool & Wolverine‘s trailers teased the MCU debut of the Deadpool Corps — a team of multiverse versions of Deadpool — for months before the movie’s release, even revealing the full look of Blake Lively’s Lady Deadpool before the film arrived. Lively was not the only major name among the Deadpool Corps, as Nathan Fillion and Matthew McConaughey also voiced different Deadpool variants. After the team’s MCU debut, the most likely project for the Deadpool Corps to return among Marvel’s upcoming movies is 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, with the team perfect for the project due to a key reason.

The Deadpool Corps Would Make Sense For Battleworld

The Multiverse Saga Will Reach A Thrilling Finale

Avengers: Secret Wars should feature Battleworld, a world that is made up of several different iconic Marvel locations patched together in the comics. In 2015’s Secret Wars event from Marvel Comics, Doctor Doom ruled over Battleworld, with different multiverse versions of characters inhabiting each of the planet’s regions, with some locations controlled by Thor variants or Hulks. With Robert Downey Jr. announced to play Doctor Doom in the next two Avengers movies, it seems like Battleworld will be part of Avengers: Secret Wars, just like it was in the comics.

Now that Deadpool & Wolverine has crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, Marvel should be looking at new ways to include the movie’s popular characters. The Deadpool Corps’ MCU return could be one of those, with the team controlling one of Battleworld’s regions. Based on the comics, it would make sense for the extremely popular Deadpool to have a corner of Battleworld dedicated to him, and by filling it with multiverse variants of the character, Marvel would create a unique scenario.

The Multiverse Team Needs More Screen Time

The Deadpool Corps had a brief presence in Deadpool & Wolverine, which included a hyper-violent fight sequence with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and a couple more scenes. However, none of the team’s characters removed their masks, which led to disappointment, given some of the big names behind the characters. An Avengers: Secret Wars return could give the team more to do, with characters like McConaughey’s Cowboy Deadpool and Lively’s Lady Deadpool removing their masks and having an actual arc alongside Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, which would be an exciting second MCU appearance for the Deadpool Corps.
