In Kaos, Killian Scott plays Orpheus, the legendary musician from Greek mythology, which has prompted many viewers to wonder if the actor is really singing Orpheus’ songs. According to Kaos‘ soundtrack guide, actor Killian Scott does indeed sing Orpheus’ songs in the hit Netflix show. In Kaos episode 1, Orpheus sings “Eurydice,” an original song that was penned for the show, as Eurydice and Dionysus walk down the street. Despite being defined by his work as a musician and poet, Orpheus doesn’t have too many tunes to belt out in Kaos season 1. In episode 3, the heartbroken yet determined Orpheus sings another original song when Ariadne, or Ari (Leila Farzad), tells the musician that her father will pardon him. Again, Scott sings in accordance with his role.

Orpheus’ music is one of the things Kaos gets right about Greek mythology. Scott lending his voice to the character and his songs only augments the feeling that Kaos‘ team put a lot of thought and heart into its modern-day spin on Greek myths. If Scott couldn’t sing, or if another musician’s voice had been dubbed over his own, the choice would have marred Kaos‘ credibility in some ways. After all, casting an Orpheus who isn’t musically inclined presents an entirely different commentary. Instead, Kaos adapts Greek mythology’s most heartbreaking tale without any musical distractions.

Does Killian Scott Have Professional Experience As A Singer?

So far, Killian Scott hasn’t spoken about any professional singing experiences. Before landing the role of Orpheus in Netflix’s Kaos, the Irish actor got his start in theater before making the jump to the screen. Aside from Orpheus, Scott’s most well-known roles don’t necessarily involve singing. The actor first hit it big with Irish viewers in the series Love/Hate before joining the British mystery show Ripper Street. From the crime series Dublin Murders and the Liam Neeson-led The Commuter to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Secret Invasion, none of Scott’s recent projects have required him to sing.
